I've been going pretty crazy with the new Beast Hunters line. I think it's great, new, exciting, and something different since the Beast Wars/Beast Machines era. There is a little resemblance of it. Beast Wars was a great compliment to the G1 cartoon. I think Hasbro needed it because G2 was not cutting it out. I think the same has happened. Nothing really has been good since the Generation/Universe lines. Of course this is all my opion because I value my collection a lot! When I look at it, the movie ones just are blah, the combiner series are just plain ole horrible! I bought 2 and got to got a present. I don't even want them on the shelf because they take up space that is needed for other plastic crack figures, like my Kreon army.

Here is what they have to say: Hasbro launches the TRANSFORMERS BEAST HUNTERS multiplatform brand experience at the 110th American International Toy Fair. The new dragon-like PREDAKING character seen here is featured in the upcoming season of the TRANSFORMERS PRIME animated series produced by Hasbro Studios. (Photo: Business Wire) When a fearsome new faction, the PREDACONS, emerge on Earth, OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS adapt with never before seen BEAST HUNTERS abilities to battle this all new enemy. TRANSFORMERS BEAST HUNTERS finds the AUTOBOTS facing off against both the DECEPTICONS and the dragon-like PREDACONS, an unprecedented new foe led by the spectacular PREDAKING character. BEAST HUNTERS is the touchstone for the TRANSFORMERS brand across all platforms in 2013 driven by the award winning "Transformers Prime" animated series which is produced by Hasbro Studios, airs on The HUB television network in the U.S. and is seen by kids and fans in 182 countries. So of course I have to have my own Predaking! Optimus, Smokescreen and Twinstrike came along for the ride...
Can it really be? Am I getting that much closer to 1000 bots in my possession? Who will be #700!2/8/2013 #695 was MP-13 Soundwave. 5 more to go...at the rate I'm going at now with all the new plastic crack that is getting release I'll be over 700 by the end of next week. I just found Kre-O Beast hunters Ripclaw and Optimus. I can't believe it. It brings a tear to my eyes when I walk into this room full of my favorite thing in life. A room that is floor to ceiling and wall to wall all the way around is the most astonishing accomplishment that I've ever done. We aren't talking about work or friends or family. Not relationships. Just in general to have a hobby, maintain it for 20 years and still continue it to this day is mind-blowing. Now I don't buy every single one ever made but I sure as hell go out of my way for the ones that I want! If I don't have it today, I promise you I'll have it tomorrow or the next day.
I will stop when Hasbro stops making them and I will get every single last one I want and need, until then I will continue to be a"transformanic" Transformers Generations - 2012 Million Publishing Exclusive - Artfire! This is an exclusive figure that is only a mail order available as part of the Million Publishing Generations 2012 book! He is a remold of the Universe Inferno/Solar Storm Grapple figures sold in the US. He comes with two Targetmaster partners. Nightstick (whose name they didn’t even bother changing) was a repaint from Universe Deluxe Cyclonus’s partner. Sparks was repainted from Transformers 2010 Power Core Combiners Leadfoot’s partner Pinpointer. Let me start off saying that Artfire has an amazing paint job!
I guess they had two choices with Artfire. Since Inferno and Grappel use the same mold, they could have gone either way making him. Option one was to use the Inferno mold as is, since remolding was apparently not an option. It wouldn’t have been as nice with it not having a ladder, but there would have been no place to put his weapon in vehicle mode. Instead, they went with the Grappel mold. So now he is apparently a fire truck with a crane. Doesn't really make sense? The two weapons just barely can connect onto the end of the hook. At least they could have painted the crane white, but they didn’t even do that. If it looked even a little bit like a ladder, I would have been alright with it, but it doesn’t, especially with it having a hook at the end. Overall, I would have to say this is the most disappointing of the Million Publishing Exclusives that I own. Of course as a huge fan, he needed to be next to Grapple and Inferno because the mold is really nice. Just blew it with Artfire. This could have been a great toy, but instead ended up being pretty average except for the great paint job. Absolutely gorgeous! Any Transformers fan should own him. Whether you like the Masterpiece collection or not he is a must have on your shelf. He's a little pricey but trust me he is worth every hard working dime that you put into him. I'm not saying this because I'm a Soundwave junky and need to own every one EVER made, he truly is like his original from '84. I am a huge Masterpiece Transformers fan (Takara only), it's the only Transformers line I still collect on a regular basis and proudly display for all to see. The day Soundwave was announced, I knew I would be adding ihim to my collection. So to say I had VERY high expectations for him and it would be a bit of an understatement. He comes with his traditional cannon that slides out to reveal the silver chromed missile like on the original toy, unfortunately the missile is not removable. . The gun also attaches to his back to look like a battery. I had to do this....Not bad for the first time, right? He can hold three cassette tapes at one time. Both vintage tapes and the new MP’s will fit in there. Of course they are on pre-order! A button on the back of Soundwave moves a little wall-type device forward to push the cassettes out one at a time. You have to be extremely careful that the cassettes don’t get stuck in there. I’ve sweat trying to get them out and was afraid I was going to break them. That is why you only see Laserbeak in there. I won't be doing that again! He has a clear Energon Cube that can attach to his chest so it looks like he is making them. What I just found out is that you can cut out a papercraft pink florescent piece of paper and put it inside the cube to make it look like it’s full of Energon. I gotta give it to Takara for the ideas! They are just full of them. Click on the link and it will direct you right to the page so you can print it out. It’s like the toy just stepped out of an old G1 cartoon!! I really love the way the head sculpt looks with the red eyes. The details are fantastic looking including the working cassette tape buttons on the front and volume control and earphone jacks on the side. He even has some nice detailing in the cassette chamber that looks like an actual cassette deck. He is in scale with all the other MP’s (most recent, Sideswipe and Red Alert) except for MP-05 Megatron and MP-01/MP-04 (trailer version) Optimus Prime. Those two are significantly taller. By far this is my favorite Masterpiece figure to date. He is dead-on to the character, and the toy is made very well with many of the other MP’s. He is very durable and is by far the easiest MP to Transform to date, not including Laserbeak who is even simpler to change. Past MP's have been very scary to transform. Too delicate.
This is the ultimate MP and I highly recommend you get it. My new shelf of Kreons! There is something about them that I absolutely love! Seriously, if you don't own any of them you need to go out and find them. They resemble G1 characters right on. The weapons and accessories they come with are so clever. Hasbro, TWO HUGE thumbs up for you! I am totally sucked into buying every last one to be made! So the new ones that just came out have a little stand. Which is is much easier to pose with. I don't know if you own any of them but they are VERY hard to pose especially when they are decked out with all these weapons and accessories. Now to find those little stands for the rest of the army.
